Back of Card reads: Delightful children carry the Lamb of God, strewing flowers along the way... the Easter bunny is in the bushes where he belongs. :) Back of card reads: About Easter Eggs, Rabbits, Chicks & Lambs In times past, eggs along with meat were given up during Lent. When Easter arrived, eggs were dyed red to symbolize the joy of the Holy Season. The chick emerging from the egg is thought to be symbolic of Christ emerging from the tomb. In pagan culture, the egg was an emblem of new life or spring, and the rabbit was the symbol of fertility that laid the eggs, thus we have the �Easter Bunny�. How unfortunate that this pagan custom has again surfaced, that the Easter rabbit abounds while it is hard to find Our Risen Lord. This year let us encourage all to return to our Christian traditions... we have so many beautiful ones! Let us ban the bunny and celebrate instead the Lamb of God! It is no accident that Jesus, the true Paschal Lamb, was crucified on the feast of the Passover, when the figurative lamb was slain. Let us take advantage of His Sacrifice which is renewed daily in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. By consuming Him in the Holy Eucharist, He will consume us! I like to send this card out a couple of weeks before Easter, as it reminds people of the great graces that are awaiting them in this devotion at this time of year. Back of Card includes explanation of the red & white rays as well as the following promises: I promise that the soul which shall venerate this picture will not perish. I further promise that soul victory over its enemies already here on earth and especially in the hour of death. I myself shall defend that soul as my own glory... I am giving to people a vessel, with which they should come to fetch graces from the font of Mercy. That vessel is this picture with the subscription: JESUS I TRUST IN THEE. I desire that the first Sunday after Easter be celebrated as the Feast of Mercy... anyone who approaches on this day the source of Life will obtain complete remission of punishment and sin. Mankind will not find peace, unless it turns with confidence to My Mercy.
